KUSA - It's a pretty small device, but it can be the difference between life and death when someone is having heart problems.
An AED saved the life of Lindsay Haden. Last year when she was a senior at Standley Lake High School, she suddenly collapsed while in class. A classmate gave her CPR and staff brought an AED. The lifesaving device had been donated by the family of a student who had died at the school and now she's now trying to make sure the lifesaving devices are in more schools.
Haden and the South Metro Fire Department are encouraging people to take part in the Sweet Hearts Ball. There will be dinner and dancing at the Wildlife Experience and the proceeds will help buy more AEDs. The ball will be on Feb. 13, starting at 6 p.m.
